R.H. Coutier 'Brut Tradition' Champagne

Hailing from the Grand Cru village of Ambonnay, known almost exclusively for its rich Pinot Noirs, R.H. Coutier’s “Brut Tradition” is surprisingly comprised of 100% Chardonnay grapes. This nonvintage Blanc de Blanc poses an intriguing combination between the richness typical in a wine from Ambonnay and the deeply expressive nature of the Chardonnay grape. Mineral and non-fruit aromas like smoke, crushed rock, and French bread layer atop notes of dried pear, ginger, spices, and dried flowers before a long, crisp finish. Rich, full of flavor, and with limestone acidity, this is a Champagne worth savoring.
